At the beginning, often dated to Prehistory, each of the nine villages located in the Rhône and Gorges de l’Ardèche area was built on a particular spot, had a geographical asset or remarkable natural resources. It is up to each visitor to appreciate them according to his own likings, following his own itinerary and inspiration.
